
Materials Needed:
- Blue Play-Doh
- Green Play-Doh
- Red Play-Doh
- Orange Play-Doh
- Yellow Play-Doh
- Cutting Utensil
- LSW Printable Earth’s Layers Graphic
Instructions:
Take a small piece of yellow play-doh and roll it into a small ball
Take a medium piece of orange play-doh and roll it into a ball slightly larger than the yellow ball
Next flatten the ball out and stretch it over the yellow ball making sure to completely cover it
Repeat this step with the red play-doh
Do the same for the blue play-doh
Next take pinches of the green play-doh and create land masses that resemble earth
Using LSW Printable Earth’s Layers Graphic to explain the different layers of the earth
With adult help, have the child slice through the play-doh earth down the middle to reveal the hidden layers underneath
